Our history

Our history

In 1936, the great-grandfather and grandfather of Simon Roche settled on this farm. They live from polyculture, a few vineyards, fruit trees, cereals, some cows and goats ... The house and land will be rented until 1950 and then bought. In 1963, Simon's uncle took over the business and began bottling on the property, until 1975, 50% of the production was sold to the property and 50% to trading. The name St Joseph is decreed in 1956, the vineyard must be entirely replanted to have the grape varieties, certified AOC. A turn in the exploitation in 1992 with the uprooting of the orchard, the cultivation of the fruits is definitively abandoned in favor of the vine. In 2006, after 4 years of studying wine (and 2 winemaking courses among the most renowned winemakers of the St Joseph appellation) Simon, the nephew took over the family farm of 5 hectares. This nature lover, who has always lived in the countryside and known the work of the vine has chosen to live his passion with a slogan: put his ideas into practice.
